About
Tony Harding has been a photographer since 1975 when he first caught the bug. Tony was first inspired by his older brother John, who had set up a darkroom in their family home just before heading off to Vietnam. John did photography for the 101st Airborne division, which kept him out of trouble (and combat). Tony picked up a camera shortly after graduating high school, thinking that it might also keep him out of trouble. He never puts it down. At Oswego State University, Tony studied photography in both the Art and Industrial Arts Departments. He was quickly recognized by the university and offered a job for the schools PR department. He given his own darkroom and assignments. After later transferring to Adelphi University, Tony continued to study photography through the Art Department, graduating with a BA in Communications, and a Minor in Art/Photography. His first assignment out of school was to shoot a brochure for the Delta Queen Steamboat, which was re-launching in 1981. Taking a trip down the Mississippi with two Nikons and a Mamiya 645 was a great experience. Currently, Tony produces commercials, music videos and films for various clients. While he's been in the film business for over 2 decades, he also continues to work professionally in his first love, photography. His primary subjects are classic cars, mannequins, musicians, urban street photography, and portraits.
